IC Information:
Name: Wallace Wells
Fandom: Scott Pilgrim
Timeline: Right after Scott moves out (volume 5)
Age: 25
Appearance: Wallace is a pretty well-groomed, classy looking guy, except for when he decides to walk around in his underpants. He's in good shape and has slightly spiky black hair. His wardrobe is generally on the casual side (t-shirts, button-up shirts, sweaters, etc.) but he never looks sloppy, unless, as previously mentioned, he decides to walk around in his underpants. This is a thing that happens from time to time.
Abilities: Wallace has learned a few tricks from his psychic boyfriend, but nothing major enough to be considered a power. It's not entirely clear what he can do, but at the very least he can dry himself off just by thinking about it. That's probably useful for something.
Personality:
Wallace has a mostly calm demeanor and relaxed outlook on life. He's usually the calm one in any bad situation, which isn't to say that he never freaks out, but he's more inclined to think of how to solve things...if he's not at the point where he's not taking things seriously, i.e. drunk or more concerned with hooking up at the most inappropriate moment. He likes to live life to the fullest, though in his eyes "living life to the fullest" usually means drinking and having one night stands pretty much constantly. Wallace is pretty darn gay, and never passes up an opportunity to use his charms on an attractive young man. Even if he isn't sleeping with someone, those charms will show anyway. Wallace is fun to be around and easily likable, that is, if you don't mind his sometimes over the top lifestyle.
Despite his promiscuity and love of the party life, Wallace is very level-headed, especially compared to his naive and aloof friend Scott, who advises and cares for almost like a parent does a child sometimes. He is a nice guy who is willing to help his friends out of any situation, however stupid they may be. He won't think twice about telling you you're bring stupid in such a situation, but he'll help you out regardless. He sometimes puts himself before others for his own desires, such as when he told Scott at the last moment that he signed a new lease on, their place with his boyfriend and he had to move out as soon as possible. Additionally, though he is generally approachable and friendly, if he doesn't like you, he won't be afraid to let you know... and let everyone else know, since he's something of a gossip. It's probably best not to trust Wallace to keep any secrets. He'll tell someone, and it'll spread ridiculously quickly.
History:
Wallace is a normal guy who has a pretty normal life. His life before university is never mentioned, but it can be inferred that he had a relatively happy childhood growing up in or near Toronto. What we do know about Wallace's past is that it was during his university years that he met his longtime friend and roommate, Scott Pilgrim. Wallace, naturally and correctly assuming that all he had to do to make friends with someone is hover around them until them warmed up to him, took a liking to Scott and would often try talking to him and show up at his home unannounced. Surprisingly, Scott did warm up to him, and they became good friends. The story of how they became roommates is shrouded in mystery, but it involved the two of them getting drunk and was apparently "fairly gay". Make of that what you will.
Wallace and Scott moved into a small place -- really, really small -- in which Wallace owned most everything. Wallace was the one with the job, the money, the stuff, and the social life out of the two of them. When Scott got dragged into fighting Ramona's seven evil exes, Wallace took the role of his adviser, in both the sense that he helped him through the fights and acted like his mother. Besides helping out when Scott needed advice on handling either those troubles or his pathetic life in general, Wallace went along with his life as normal, working at his boring day job and clubbing, drinking, and picking up guys by night. By the time Scott was dealing with Todd Ingram, the third evil ex, Wallace had met his boyfriend, Mobile, a psychic who nobody other than Wallace seems to know much about. When Wallace's lease with Scott ran out, he signed a new one with Mobile without telling him -- luckily, Scott was already going to move in with Ramona, or Wallace would have kicked him out with little to no notice. Wallace made clear that he would uphold his duties as Scott's sage-like mother figure, despite him moving out...but there's no time for that now, since he's going to be thrown in the facility.
Roleplay Sample - Log:
The day started out like any other. Wallace woke up around 9 AM, went to the grocery store to buy fancy deli meats, sweet talked the cashier into giving him a discount, bought a cup of coffee, and walked home to get ready for work.
But when Wallace reached his front door, a terrible realization washed over him.
He forgot his keys.
This normally wouldn't be a problem, since the door would be unlocked, and it's not like Scott got up before noon, so he wouldn't have left and locked the door...Except it seems that for once, his lazy roommate had a place to go, since the door was locked.
Frustrated, but thinking quickly, Wallace pulled out his phone and called Scott.
"Scott? Where are you? ...Since when do you get out this early? Actually, I'm kind of proud of you. ...Yeah, whatever, I don't actually care where you are, I'm locked out and I need you to come back and let me in. I'll share my black forest ham with you. You're tired of bologna, right?" Wallace smiled as Scott remained silent on the other end. He could almost see the look of deep thought on Scott's face after that proposition.
Click. Somehow, the promise of ham worked. Wallace knew Scott too well, or maybe he was just lucky. Either way, at least he wouldn't have to kick the door down to get into his own home. And it's not like he was actually going to share that ham, anyway.
Roleplay Sample - Journal:
Ok, ok... So this facility isn't exactly the best place to live. But when you forget about the whole horrific torture thing, it's still better than my old place. Maybe I could make the best of this.
[He pauses to reflect on what he could possibly do to justify saying that this place isn't so bad.]
...There are men here, and I'm sure some of them are worth sleeping with. That's something...
[Another pause to reflect.]
Actually, no. This place completely blows.
This game includes horrible mental and physical torture of your character. After reading the rules/faq for clarification, how do you expect your character to handle this and continue to function? Wallace is used to weird stuff happening to people around him, but actually being subjected to the horrific and strange experiments himself will be new. Obviously he's not going to like it, but he's strong enough to be able to cope for the most part.
